Alex Kenan is a product manager at Mastercard focusing on transaction performance optimization and fraud prevention for issuing banks in the US and Canada.

Previously, he was a data analytics and strategy specialist at Delta Air Lines for SkyBonus, Delta's small business loyalty program, and prior to that, an analyst in the SkyMiles loyalty program, focusing on data analysis and program strategy. He used Python, Tableau, SAS software suite, and Oracle Hyperion to perform data analysis, to provide structured program reporting, to analyze program changes, to build models of future customer behavior, and to create consumer insight from past customer behavior. He has also used Python to catch and prevent fraud in the SkyMiles program by identifying and blocking fraudulent redemptions and identifying hacked customer accounts.

He used Python as an engineer in Propulsion Engineering to expedite planning for engineering changes, to coordinate FADEC faults with engine component removals, and to create GUIs for faster analysis of repeat troublesome engine components.

He taught himself Python after several university computer science courses in Java. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
